Welcome to the sailing gym

A splendid nautical base in Dervio, in the most windy part of Lario.
Dervio, in the province of Lecco, is a place known throughout Lombardy and northern Europe by lovers of water sports who have to do, in one way or another, with air and water. Pristine environment and constant presence of wind are the main characteristics of this special spot, where Orza Scuola Vela holds its permanent sailing courses for adults and the sailing campus for children and teenagers.

The base is immersed in a huge green lawn at the edge of the lake and a few meters from the port of Santa Cecilia where our keel boats are located. The structure has everything you need: comfortable bedrooms, bathrooms and showers, kitchen and classroom, tool room and garden. The course participants stay in rooms equipped with bunk beds. Two steps in the green meadow looking at the lake and you arrive at the port where our boats are located. After the arming of the boats and two brief explanations, we leave the port and apply the lesson that was explained before on the blackboard on the water.

The base remains open from April to October, from November to March base opens only on weekends and long weekends.

One Surprise and five Fun are waiting for you for a course or an outing with friends. All keel boats can be sailed without a boat license. Furthermore these dinghies are available for courses or rent RS Quest and RS Tera.

How to get to Dervio

By car: from Milan take the SS 36 highway to the Dervio exit, head towards Porto S. Cecilia (see map). Use the public parking of the Port of S. Cecilia which is located nearby the lake shore and access the Base on foot via the port side entrance (in the summer months it is subject to a fee).
By train: Dervio is on the Milan-Lecco-Sondrio railway line, you can reach the base in 10 minutes by foot
