Porto Pollo, one of the best windsurfing spot in Europe

Windsurfing is also available in Porto Pollo. This way you can ride the waves pushed by the wind and passion as this is a sport that can offer new feelings every time. It is an ideal site for windsurf lovers. Orza Scuola Vela organizes courses of three different levels, with courses similar to the ones offered at the camp. The teaching method, aiming to make the student independent from the first trials, is the official method of the Italian Sailing Federation (Federazione Italiana Vela). Starting from theory lessons, exercises on a simulator and in the water, the course will teach you how to beach start and water start, how to change points of sail and to be perfectly riding these fun boards.

  • BASIC LEVEL 1 – beginners

If you believe windsurfing is for somebody else and that you will not be able to be on a board, this is a course for you! Theory lessons, trials on a simulator, fun exercises with easy and light equipment and water practice will make you able to surf safely  and have a good time!

PROGRAM: getting familiar with all parts of the equipment, rig and de-rig, safety checks, generic and specific theory notions, terminology, simulator try, basic maneuvers with keel,  surfing with middle/low wind and maintaining point of sail, beach start, maneuvers.

  • ADVANCED 2 – for people with some basic windsurfing knowledge

If you got to this point, it means you enjoy windsurfing! Let's make it exciting and speed up. You will face medium/strong wind and this will  give you the chance to improve your basic maneuvering skills.
The goal will be to start planing and find the right body position in fast point of sails, learning how to use straps and harness line. From this course on you will be a real “windsurfer” and  fun on your board will have no limits.

PROGRAM: theory notions, beach start and right point of sail with medium/strong wind, theory and trial of water start, speed tack and jibe without keel, use of harness line and planing body position, go close-hauled.

  • FUNBOARD 3 – if you want to get serious

Keel off and welcome to the funboard world with free ride boards! During this course you will learn more thoroughly what already learned in previous courses and you will try a new board: Right start and surf with strong wind, use of harness  line and straps, ideal body and sail position in every point of sail, jibe without keel, planing, board control with your feet, power tack try and speed tack on freeride board, beach and water start.

PROGRAM: proper start and point of sail with strong wind, use of harness line and straps, proper body and sail position in every point of sail, jibe without keel, planing, board control with your feet,power tack try and speed tack on freeride board, beach and water start.


Rate includes: Windsurfing course with theory and practical lessons, handbook, lodging and boarding at our camp in our dorm-style room with toilette and shower, transfer to/from Porto Pollo.
Rate does not include: Round trip and membership card.
