The first step to become part of the Instructors crew is to learn the philosophy and teaching methods of our sailing school. This is the beginning of a learning process full of life experiences that can be eventually shared with your future crews.
The course “training for Sea instructor” is for future Orza instructors, but also for well-experienced skippers who would like to freshen up their knowledge or for whomever has some basic knowledge how to lead a cabin-cruiser and is ready to step up and become an expert shipmaster.

Course Description:
It is a very intensive course organised during the Winter time on purpose to train you sailing skills at best. You start early in the morning and go on till sundown, and your technical growth goes as fast as the rhythm of a day at sea.
The course will face all aspects of leading a boat only with sails in different maneuvers: reverse sailing, single-handed sailing, anchoring etc.
Besides these topics, you will improve your sail trimming, practise how to use a spinnaker and two very fundamental topics at sea: safety and how to manage damages.
The course will also give you some information on plants aboard such as the engine, the anchor winch, water pump, etc. The student learns how to face certain problems seriously, but keeping a smile on his face.
At last the student will learn how to welcome his future students and how to handle the course timing and different activities.
Topics: Safety, weather forecast, instruments aboard (nautical charts, vhf), MOR, how to heave, reducing sails, how to move aboard, position of the instructor, sail in restricted spaces, how to handle route and speed to get the best performance. Furthermore, you will learn how to arrive and depart from a bouy in every situation, to sail close-hauled, to tack and jibe in restricted spaces. Also you will learn how to manage a boat with engine in all conditions, dock start and departure in all situations and restricted spaces.
